Kenny Coolbeth Jr., Nila Racing and Columbia Avionics, ascended the podium in second place after Sunday\u2019s rain-delayed race at Dixie Speedway in Atlanta.<\/p>\n

The rider led the pole Saturday and had a great race overall. Joined by new sponsor Klock Werks, of Mitchell, SD, Coolbeth, a CT resident, qualified first despite tricky conditions and subsequently claimed the second spot from challengers Jeffrey Carver Jr. and Jarod Vanderkooi.<\/p>\n

This result, combined with his Daytona TT eighth-place spot, puts Coolbeth and his privateer Indian Scout FTR750 in second in the early-season point standings. The legendary rider seems determined and able to leave the series on a high note – he’s announced this will be his final AFT season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve devoted my life to this sport and knowing it\u2019s my final season provides a unique level of motivation for me,\u201d said Coolbeth. \u201cI\u2019m armed with a brand new bike that\u2019s running incredibly well, and I\u2019m planning to give it everything I\u2019ve got to finish on top, before I ride off into the sunset.”<\/p>\n
