Despite a terrifying crash just 12 days ago, John Force Racing Top Fuel driver Brittany Force states that she’s ready to return to competition. The 2017 NHRA champion has been cleared to race and is eager to return to the field.<\/p>\n

\u201cI flew into Phoenix early this (Thursday) morning and headed straight out to race track to meet up with my team,” Force said. “I suited up and got belted back into my car that I ran all last season. It honestly felt good to be strapped back in and I was surprised how comfortable I was. I\u2019m looking forward to getting back in my car tomorrow and getting back in the swing of things with my guys.”<\/p>\n

Force’s recovery has come with a healthy dose of support from her close-knit family, her competitors, and her fans.\u00a0 “For the past week I\u2019ve had so many of my competitors reach out to me as well. Thank you to all of them. I look forward to getting back out there with you.”\u00a0 She’s also grateful to her fans, “I\u2019m so blessed to be in a sport where fans are so loyal. Thank you again to the greatest fans on Earth.”<\/p>\n

The crash itself during the season opening NHRA Lucas Oil Winternationals in Pomona, CA occurred at the end of the elimination rounds when Force’s car got away from her, hitting the retaining wall and catching on fire. It’s the kind of crash that could make the most seasoned driver wary, and while Force is eager to get back behind the wheel, she’s also cognizant of the very real danger she was in and grateful for the technologies and engineering that allowed her to walk away from this crash.<\/p>\n
