Drivers from the popular Redemption Texas racing series will participate in a special eight-car exhibition race on Friday, April 21 as part of the 30th annual NHRA SpringNationals at Royal Purple Raceway, according to NHRA officials.<\/p>\n

Eight speedy small tire cars will take part in the special event, which will take place during Friday\u2019s<\/span> SpringNationals qualifying. Drivers will each get one time trial when qualifying begins at 8 a.m.<\/span> Friday<\/span>. The first round of eliminations is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.<\/span> The semifinals will occur before the first round of professional qualifying for NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series drivers; the final round for the small tire standouts will run before the second round of professional qualifying on Friday<\/span> night.<\/p>\n

The winner of the exhibition will receive a special acrylic Wally produced by NHRA. Texas’ original small tire series, Redemption features some of the fastest small tire cars in the world.<\/p>\n

The 30th annual NHRA SpringNationals is the fifth of 24 events in the NHRA season for 2017. The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will feature two qualifying rounds on Friday<\/span> at 4:30 and 7 p.m. and the final two qualifying rounds on Saturday, April 22 at 1:30 and 4 p.m.<\/span> Final eliminations are slated for 11 a.m.<\/span> on Sunday, April 23<\/span>.<\/p>\n
