The automotive manufacturer needed a way to compete with the utilitarian Jeep CJ-5 and International Scout models that were becoming more popular with buyers. Unwilling to let the craze pass them by, Ford designed and released the Bronco to a salivating public. The original Bronco was offered in three variations. Included in the first year lineup were a wagon, pickup, and the less traditional convertible version. The convertible version would eventually be discontinued due to its limited popularity. However, the wagon and pickup versions would carry on. Ford\\u2019s Bronco sold in respectable numbers following its debut year and would be built another five generations before production ceased after the 1996 model year. There are rumors that Ford plans to bring the famous Bronco nameplate back, and the pictures floating around are pretty damn amazing!
