After over a year of anticipation, Ford has announced that the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will run on a twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. It will produce 450 HP and 510 lb-ft of torque.<\/span><\/div>\n

This exceeds the 6.2-liter V-8 featured in the previous generation vehicle by 39 HP and 76 lb-ft. Due to the F-150’s aluminum construction, it will also be much lighter (about 500 lbs) than the last generation, and therefore will have a shorter 0-60 mph time than the 6.5 seconds registered with the heavier model.<\/div>\n

The F-150 Raptor features a 10-speed automatic transmission to further ease acceleration.<\/div>\n

The downside to this much power, of course, is low mileage; according to the EPA, the new Raptor averages 16 mpg, 15 in the city and 18 on the highway.<\/p>\n

Starting at $49,520, the Raptor will be available to purchase very soon, during Fall of 2016.<\/p>\n
