Monterey isn\u2019t famous just for its aquarium and golf courses. It\u2019s also the site of a number of car shows that bring beautiful cars from all over the world for the public to see. In progress right now is an event they call \u201cMonterey Car Week<\/a>.\u201d Think NASCAR Speed Week prior to the Daytona 500, but dedicated not just to NASCAR racing. You\u2019ll see everything from land speed record runners to Bentleys to Duesenbergs.<\/p>\n

Every day during the week there\u2019s an emphasis on different themes or events. For example, there were three events\/shows on Tuesday the 16th<\/sup>. These were Automobilia Monterey<\/a>, Concours on the Avenue<\/a>, and Classic Motorsports Magazine Monterey Kick Off Cruise-In<\/a>. Automobilia Monterey was dedicated collectors of automobilia. The Concours event was dedicated to European makes from 1940 through 1973 with emphasis on Porsche and Ferrari. The Classic Motorsports event was just what the title says: A cruise-in of (mostly) classic cars. Let\u2019s take a look at what\u2019s still going on.<\/p>\n

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion<\/strong><\/p>\n

Watchmaker Rolex has always been deeply involved in motorsports for decades. Thus, it comes as no surprise that they are the main sponsor of what is described as a museum come to life-the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion<\/a>, which is being held between the 18th<\/sup> and 21st<\/sup> of August at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca<\/a>. Celebrating its 100th<\/sup> anniversary, BMW is the featured marquee for this event which features 16 different groups of classic racing groups. Some of the racing groups that you\u2019ll see both on display and on the track during this event include:<\/p>\n
