The annual Meltdown Drags<\/a> event in Byron Illinois is a chance to step back in time and experience drag racing in its heyday–the 1960s. \u00a0All of the cars entered in the drag racing are period correct while meeting current safety requirements, which means a lot of very cool classics tearing up the strip. \u00a0That means they need to be 1966 or earlier (or at least look like it… which means ’67 Firebirds and Camaros are out, but the 66-67 models of muscle car are fine).<\/p>\n
