For those seeking maximum performance and comfort, this helmet takes weight savings to a new level with the latest in high-tech materials.<\/p>\n The Star Carbon is constructed with a carbon\/kevlar\/fiberglass blend that gives it a total weight of 1,500 grams\u2014100 grams less than the non-carbon version of itself. Nothing is compromised with the weight savings as it still carries both DOT and Snell M2010 safety ratings, which makes it perfect for track days and most NHRA series.<\/p>\n The overall look of the Star Carbon is stunning, with an aggressive aerodynamic profile and exposed carbon fiber peeking out from underneath the vibrant graphics. An unpainted carbon fiber version is also available for that extra bad-ass<\/em> look.<\/p>\n The helmet doesn\u2019t just look good, it also performs magnificently. I confirmed this with a ride in my coworker\u2019s Dodge Viper GTS down the coast of Southern California. I felt right at home underneath the Viper\u2019s bumped roofline, with the Star Carbon blocking out all wind noise while cruising at speed. Visibility through the anti-fog, UV-protected face shield is excellent and unobstructed.
