Fans can bring home the excitement and competition of the drag strip with Traxxas’ remote controlled 1/8 scale NHRA Funny Cars. These electric Funny Cars are modeled after the “winningest team in drag race history,” John Force Racing.

I stumbled upon these cars while visiting Traxxas’ SEMA booth and was impressed by how realistic and authentic they are. They’re designed to do burnouts, creep up to the staging lights and launch just like their full-scale counterparts. To add to the excitement, the Traxxas Link iPhone/iPad app records reaction times and ETs so you can share and brag about your victories.

The attention to detail is top-notch, with the paint and sponsor decals already applied from the factory. The car body tilts up in true Funny Car fashion, revealing a tubular frame and slick rear wheels. Here at the Racing Junk office, we have the John Force and Courtney Force Ford Mustangs and they drew a crowd just sitting on a table.

These Funny Cars are ready to go right out of the box — just insert batteries in the car and the transmitter and let the racing action begin! The power from the electric motor is overwhelming for the uninitiated and a challenge for even the most seasoned remote control drivers.
