The NHRDA Mid West Truckin’ Nationals took place on Saturday at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL. \u00a0This event featured trucks of all sizes and classes racing down the drag strip. Top speeds averaged between 146 mph for Diesel trucks all the way up to 199 mph for dragsters.<\/p>\n

The winner for Top Diesel dragsters was Marty Thacker with an ET of 7.01 and a speed of 199.11 mph. \u00a0The Top Diesel dragster top speed was also by Thacker in another run at 199.43 mph. \u00a0Thacker is a local to the track from Robinson, IL.<\/p>\n

The winner for Super Street trucks was Wade Minter in a 2006 Chevy truck with an ET of 9.93 and a speed of 139.62 mph. \u00a0The Super Street truck top speed was also achieved by Minter in another run at 146.06 mph. \u00a0Minter traveled all the way from Maypearl, TX to compete in this competition.<\/p>\n

The winner for Super Diesel trucks was Dan Zelten in a 2007 GMC truck with an ET of 12.16 and a speed of 110.34 mph.<\/p>\n

The event also held a sled pulling series with three classes of trucks. \u00a0The first was the 3.0 Class, and the winner was Jim Greenway in a 1994 Dodge. \u00a0The runner-up in the 3.0 class was Kevin Cole in a 1998 Dodge.<\/p>\n

The next class, the 2.6 Class, was won by Jim Greenway, as well. \u00a0This time, he was in a 2007 Dodge. \u00a0The runner-up in the 2.6 class was Dustin Smith in a 2001 Dodge, and third place was Aaron Powell in a 2001 Dodge.<\/p>\n

The last class, the Work Stock Class, was won by Kyle Dowson in a 2006 Dodge. \u00a0The runner-up of this class was Drew Declerck in a 1997 Dodge, and third place was Eric Loy in a 2005 Dodge.<\/p>\n

Lastly, there was a Burnout Contest and a Show n’ Shine. \u00a0The Burnout Contest was won by Brandon Hooper in a 1986 Chevy, and the Show n’ Shine was Travis Lane in a 2013 Dodge.<\/p>\n
