A Black 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 with a 302 V8, a floor shift and bucket seats; this is the car I regret I sold. Ask any car guy this simple but loaded question, \u201cWhat car do you regret selling?\u201d, and the response will come with little hesitation. When I asked my father, he couldn’t say \u201c1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 with a 4 speed and A\/C,\u201d quick enough, as if he were a kid rifling off his number one request for a Christmas present. Whether it was your first car, a project build, or both, everyone has a story of that one that got away.<\/p>\n

Every so often, I\u2019ll be perusing the classifieds and come across an ad with a meticulous, in-depth, almost over the top description of the vehicle they are selling. Usually when I see an ad like this, I\u2019ll find a short sentence along the lines of, \u201cMust sell to buy house\u201d or \u201cneed something with a little more room.\u201d Although as innocent sounding a sentence it is to the buyer, the sentence is heart wrenching to type. After we posted a link of a similar classified ad to our Facebook page and saw the overwhelming response, I found a lot of you had to do the same.<\/p>\n

Most of the time when we sell our toys, there is a legitimate, practical reason for doing anything so foolish; in my case it was to pay some bills, and now my bills are paid and I drive a Kia. Some people sell their toys and actually have something to show for it; like a house. So the next time you catch yourself exhibiting a \u2018thousand-yard stare\u2019 into a garage that\u2019s now used for storing camping equipment and holiday decorations, and some Swedish cross-over thing parked in your driveway, just take a moment and remind yourself that you used to have something that was worth waxing every few months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
