The latest person to assume the group’s presidency is Dustin Farthing.

Farthing, well known for his accomplishments as one of the finest personal watercraft racers in the world, has earned more than 30 professional world championships as he’s competed in offshore racing, snowcross and IMSA’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo competition. When not competing, Farthing has operated successful powersports dealerships, motorsports operations, sponsorship programs and large-scale construction firms.

While Tommy Thomassie was initially indicated to be taking over for Leah Martin, that was not the case. Farthing is entrusted with overseeing continued growth for the sanctioning body and its multiple series. IHRA runs and promotes drag racing, offshore powerboat racing, personal watercraft competition, stock car racing, pulling and snowmobile competitions concerns and, it says, future motorsports expansions.

“Dustin Farthing brings the combination of on-track credibility, business acumen and hands-on motorsports leadership that the IHRA needs,” according to IHRA owner Darryl Cuttell. “We have put a focused strategic leadership team in place under his direction. This team will develop and execute clear short-term and long-term plans that position the IHRA for continued growth, while maintaining the strong relationships we have built with our racers, tracks, sponsors and fans.”

In accepting the position, Farthing stated, “The IHRA has an iconic brand and passionate participants across every discipline. My focus, along with the new leadership team, is to build a sustainable foundation that allows us to grow responsibly. We remain committed to treating our racers and fans with the respect and support they deserve,” he said. “That means making thoughtful decisions today that protect and strengthen the organization for the long term.”

Due to his practical involvement in the sport, competing at high levels throughout a variety of motor sports, Farthing’s perspectives could be the ones that help IHRA gain the support it needs, strengthening relationships with every entity: racers, track operators, sponsors and fans. While IHRA’s expansion of its offerings continues, it’s thought that Farthing’s variety of experience will help contain the sanction’s wild swings.

The ongoing merry-go-round of employees at IHRA has inserted a new president after firing Leah Martin.

{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[3465,3470,5029
12432,13311,4799,13291,1379
post-106163","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-drag-racing","category-news","category-racing","tag-darryl-cuttell","tag-dustin-farthing","tag-ihra","tag-leah-martin","tag-maple-grove-raceway
["GET
