According to the association, recent greenhouse gas (GHG) policies have chipped away at affordability and innovation, leaving enthusiasts and small businesses caught in the middle.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1361\" data-end=\"1435\">SEMA outlined several key reasons for backing the EPA\u2019s reconsideration:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1437\" data-end=\"1693\">\n<li data-start=\"1437\" data-end=\"1488\">\n<p data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1488\">Restore the Clean Air Act to its intended scope<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1489\" data-end=\"1535\">\n<p data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1535\">Provide long-term certainty for industries<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1536\" data-end=\"1589\">\n<p data-start=\"1538\" data-end=\"1589\">Protect consumer affordability and vehicle choice<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1590\" data-end=\"1625\">\n<p data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1625\">Reduce harm to small businesses<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1626\" data-end=\"1693\">\n<p data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1693\">Prevent a destabilizing patchwork of state and federal mandates<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1695\" data-end=\"2134\">\n<p data-start=\"1697\" data-end=\"2134\">\u201cThe specialty automotive aftermarket is a uniquely American industry built on ingenious innovation, vibrant consumer enthusiasm, and an unmatched entrepreneurial spirit,\u201d said SEMA President and CEO Mike Spagnola. \u201cThe EPA\u2019s reconsideration of the 2009 GHG Endangerment Finding presents an opportunity to remove unnecessary regulatory barriers and allow market forces to guide technological progress in a way that is consumer-driven.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 data-start=\"2136\" data-end=\"2152\">Background<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2154\" data-end=\"2423\">SEMA represents over 7,000 member businesses and an aftermarket industry worth $337 billion annually, supporting more than 3 million U.S. jobs. While many members are small businesses, their innovation powers everything from grassroots garages to global distribution.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2425\" data-end=\"2690\">The upcoming <strong data-start=\"2438\" data-end=\"2469\">2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas<\/strong>, the largest trade show in North America, will spotlight \u201cFutureTech Studio,\u201d showcasing EVs, hybrids, hydrogen, alternative fuels, and other propulsion technologies that demonstrate the industry\u2019s range and ingenuity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2692\" data-end=\"2951\">SEMA emphasizes that it is not anti-EV.
