The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is turning up the heat! IHRA owner Darryl Cuttell just scooped up Piedmont Dragway, adding another legendary strip to his growing collection of tracks and showing he\u2019s dead serious about the future of drag racing.<\/p>\n

If you know drag racing history, you know Piedmont. For decades, this North Carolina gem has been the home of fierce grassroots battles, unforgettable weekends, and a few burnouts that still live in local legend. Now, it joins Cuttell\u2019s lineup alongside Darana Raceway \u2013 Hebron (formerly National Trail Raceway) and Darana Dragway \u2013 Milan (formerly Milan Dragway).<\/p>\n

Cuttell isn\u2019t just buying tracks\u2014he\u2019s upgrading them. Piedmont Dragway is set to get big-time investment in infrastructure, killer new events, and improvements that\u2019ll make life better for racers and fans alike. Since taking the wheel of the IHRA in 2024, Cuttell has been pushing hard to expand the race calendar, strengthen facilities, and keep the sport thriving from grassroots to pro level.<\/p>\n
