The drag racing world is mourning the loss of T.J. Bailey, a veteran promoter, starter, and track-prep specialist at Texas Motorplex, who tragically passed away after sustaining injuries during a severe weather event at the Ennis, Texas facility. He was 42 years old.<\/p>\n

Bailey was widely respected for his expertise in track preparation, setting the standard for high-performance racing surfaces. His meticulous work helped ensure optimal conditions for racers, making Texas Motorplex a premier destination for drag racing enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Texas Motorplex family is devastated by the loss of T.J. Bailey\u2014an incredible leader, friend, mentor, and the heart of our track-prep team,\u201d track officials stated. \u201cTJ\u2019s passion for the sport was unmatched, and his dedication to creating the best racing surface in the world set the standard for excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bailey\u2019s contributions extended beyond the track, earning him a beloved place in the TX2K racing community. The annual TX2K event, one of the largest and most competitive drag racing gatherings in the country, will dedicate TX2K25 in his memory.<\/p>\n

\u201cTJ was one of the few good ones. From the moment he joined our TX2K car family, we knew how special he was. Words can\u2019t describe the sadness we all feel,\u201d said TX2K officials. \u201cOur hearts and prayers are with his family.\u201d<\/p>\n

A fund has been established to support Bailey\u2019s family during this difficult time.<\/a> Organizers have opted to avoid third-party donation platforms to ensure that 100% of contributions directly benefit his loved ones.
