[Video] What Happens When You don’t Pull Your Chutes

Doug Cline was having trouble with his 3000hp twin turbo Camaro on the last day of Rocky Mountain Race Week, and to his surprise, after pushing through some fuel build up off the line his car did 190mph after breaking up through the starting line! Unfortunately, Doug chose not to pull the chutes and it costed him potentially two turbochargers after filling them with gravel & sand! Driving 1300+ miles and thrashing on this big block chevy twin turbo’d beast of a Camaro probably didn’t help in split second decisions down the drag strip.

  1. Never had a car with a turbo(s) that made near this power but would think that at least one of the cone shaped screen covers, a protective enclosure with a remote intake to protect the turbo’s or a K&N style cone shaped filter would have saved this poor racer a ton of $$$$$!!! Notice that a lot of racers run them unprotected and know this assures absolute maximum air flow and a quick visual reference they are turning but in an instance like this it would have been very useful!!! Cannot believe the top end charge it made for the slow ET it ran!!!!
