[Video]Ringbrothers Octavia 1971 Aston Martin DBS Build Stuns at SEMA 2025
In the world of custom built muscle cars, American OEMs reign supreme. However, with the appearance of “OCTAVIA”, the 1971 Aston Martin DBS custom from Ringbrothers, a threat to the kingdom isn’t just coming, it’s here! Making it’s debut at the The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in August, 2025, OCTAVIA represents more than 12,000 combined hours of meticulous engineering and craftsmanship from the custom powerhouse. And attendees of the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, November 5- 8 got a chance to meet the new Queen in person at the Gentex Booth.
The vehicle is a complete reimagining of what a muscle car can be, starting with an original 1971 Aston Martin DBS. With carbon-fiber bodywork, custom fabricated EVERYTHING, a widened rear and front and extended wheel base, and a Ford Performance-sourced 5.0-liter engine V8 backed by a six-speed manual gearbox topped with a specially engineered 2.65-liter 805-horsepower Harrop Performance supercharger. All of that rides on a Roadster shop chassis and suspension. The details are outrageous, from the gear shift to the Gentex custom Full Display Mirror and visors, to the seats, bevels and trunk.
“It’s nearly impossible to convey all the intricacies that went into engineering this car. It pushed us to innovate beyond our comfort zone and create a moving mechanical work of art,” said Ringbrothers co-owner Mike Ring. “We’ve combined the ferocity of American muscle with the stiff upper lip of English sophistication and motoring. ‘OCTAVIA’ is beyond anything we’ve built before and a celebration of the hot rodding spirit…”
“We asked ourselves, ‘What would an MI6 agent drive on holiday?’ This was the result,” added Ringbrothers co-owner Jim Ring. “The engineering and attention to detail that went into this project are unlike anything we’ve done before. We’re honored and incredibly grateful for our partners, including Gentex, HRE Wheels, BASF, Ragle Design, and more, that worked along side us to create something we are decidedly proud to present.”
