How many of us still idolize the classic pickup truck? All the way back to the original Ford Model T with a pickup body, this style of vehicle has represented freedom and independence and the ability to haul things around willy-nilly -- lumber, parts, kids, dogs, bikes, engines, hay, couches, barrels of things best left undisclosed... These days, the pickup is about style and power. How much can you haul? How tall can you get? But the snub nose and long tail bed has never gone out of style, even as it's morphed into utility vehicles like the Bronco and Blazer or the family SUV. Being able to harness a big engine, pull a boat or carry a load is still essential for many of us.
Plus, now we've got the tech to keep the lines, the body, the bulk and add shocks to the seats, Bluetooth to the stereo, and tires that will keep us riding over the bumpiest road (okay, suspensions and chassis as well). Plus, what's a car show without a whole heck of a lot of engine swaps?
This show celebrates the beauty of the original, which is why we limited it to 1980 and above. You'll see your Ford F100s and your Chevy C10s (all classics for a reason) but there are some surprises in here, and we look forwarding to hearing about YOUR favorites!
