Roadkill Nights Moves/Expands Street Legal Drag Racing Event for 2023

Introducing Roadkill Nights, an exhilarating street-legal drag racing event presented by MotorTrend and powered by Dodge. This adrenaline-fueled festival is set to transform the heart of downtown Pontiac, Michigan, as it expands its footprint and attracts thousands of horsepower enthusiasts. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 12, 2023, to be a part of this unforgettable experience.

Roadkill Nights, now in its eighth year, has become a must-attend event for true muscle car lovers. Last year, it shattered attendance records with over 40,000 passionate attendees. In 2023, the starting line for street-legal drag racing will be relocated to the intersection of Woodward Avenue and W. Pike St. in Pontiac, creating a thrilling spectacle for all.

Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand CEO – Stellantis, expressed his excitement, stating, “We can’t wait to bring Roadkill Nights and street-legal drag racing to downtown Pontiac. Our little horsepower circus has grown from a grassroots event to a can’t-miss destination for any true muscle car enthusiast.” This Pontiac stop will be the second of two Roadkill Nights events in 2023, following the successful Roadkill Nights Las Vegas event held in March.

Alongside the high-octane drag racing, Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge will feature a classic and modern muscle car show, thrilling Dodge Thrill Rides, captivating Dodge displays showcasing their performance vehicles, a bustling vendor midway, and much more. The streets of downtown Pontiac will come alive with the energy of car enthusiasts and families alike.

Mayor Tim Greimel expressed his delight, stating, “We are thrilled that Roadkill Nights is staying in Pontiac and moving to our downtown. The move downtown will reduce noise in residential neighborhoods while bringing more activity, customers, and patrons to support local restaurants and businesses.”

Despite that it is the show’s name???
Wow…appears very insensitive to the injury and deaths happening with street racing.
I suspect it will not be taken well by the general pubic. 😉
