This project came about when George and Mary Munsterman from First Class Productions offered me this ’64 Pontiac Station Wagon to ‘clean up’ and stripe then auction for Artie’s Party.. The Pontiac has quickly become come a rallying point for local and national companies, manufacturers and hot rod enthusiasts. As an all-volunteer operation, the Pontiac build is a true labor of love, representing the ethos of generosity and support that defines the enthusiast community. Joe Quitoni of Joe Que’s Auto Body is coordinating the build, which includes chassis components and a disc brake conversion from Ames Performance, new springs from Detroit Spring, a motor built by Jasper Engines and a transmission from Joe Pirrone. Gillian’s Upholstery is handling the refurbishing of the interior, turning this Pontiac into a surfing Safari by upholstering the seats and interior with the Pendleton plaid wool fabric made famous by the Beach Boys.
