Home built street rod. Comfortable, fast and very cool. IFS front and rear.
Completely hand crafted by Steve’s Auto Restorations specifically to compete in the 2017 Detroit Autorama. This creation was never a car to begin with. It was created from a designer’s rendering by pen and pencil and then computer. Approximately 95% of the car is hand built. All body, fender and hardtop sheet metal is built “in-house” out of hand formed aluminum. The chassis was built “in-house” out of sheet steel and round tubing. All of the chrome plated trim was hand built either out of brass, steel or aluminum. Gauges were upgraded by Classic Instruments in a 1930 Nash gauge cluster provided by S.A.R. Chris Ito designed the outer profile and shapes of the car while in-house designer, David Brost did the remaining design work on the interior trim and steering column/steering wheel, engine compartment components, directional wheels and matching backing plates, and all of the chassis and suspension components. The wheels and hubcaps, backing plates, driveshaft, rear half shafts, “A” arms, uprights, third member cover, steering column, steering wheel, hood side trim, air cleaner base and top, and valve covers have all been designed on the computer and CNC machined as “one-off” parts. The headlights are “one-off” fabricated units as well as the rear bumper/taillight assembly. The engine is an aluminum 427 cubic inch block with a “one only” aluminum intake manifold and fabricated fuel injection in machined aluminum “faux” carburetors.

A black eye, a few teeth knocked out and an aging body was the initial assessment of this otherwise complete and original 1957 Corvette. The crew at Steve’s Auto Restorations massaged the body and treated it to several custom touches including the addition of a ’53 windshield frame, custom fabricated door caps and a C2 stinger inspired hood. Custom bumpers and chrome plated trim pieces adorn the sleek bodylines which are now dressed in a beautiful custom Crème de menthe pearl. An Art Morrison chassis anchors everything to the road while a 430hp GM Performance LS3 and 5-speed spin the one-off C2 Turbine inspired aluminum wheels. This refined show-stopping Corvette is now a refreshing blend of fifties styling and 21st century performance.

The concept here was to create a true “gullwing” doored Corvette, not merely install a cheap “Lambo” door kit. We started with a low mileage 2011 Grand Sport and first had to fabricate the top or a “spine” for the hinge mechanism to attach. From there the internal door structures and actuating mechanism was fabricated and fit to the original doors. Windshield was shaved slightly and the door jambs were modified to accept dual door latches rather than just one. New door jamb panels were fabricates and interior panels modified to fit. The goal was to retain a fairly stock appearance once the doors were closed.

Engine: LT6
Transmisison:6L80E
"This 1954 Chevy 3100 pickup truck was to built to be a powerful street machine that can roast the tires off under wide open throttle yet still be friendly enough for a cross country cruise!
An Art Morrison GT Sport chassis is the basis for a refined balance of ride quality and handling. GM’s direct-injected, supercharged 650hp LT4 — one of GM'S most powerful factory engines ever to roll off of the showroom floor in cars like the Camaro ZL1 and Cadillac CTS-V — is yoked to GM’s equally sophisticated 8L90E eight speed automatic transmission. A Strange 9 inch differential completes the drivetrain. Detroit Steel Wheel Company produced the 20 inch Artillery wheels, which are wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact Sport rubber. Well insulated and custom upholstered, the interior appointments include a TMI bench seat, Dakota Digital RTX series bluetooth gauges, and Vintage Air heat and air conditioning. The clean steel body of this cement grey classic features a shaved hood with satin black badges and trim."
