When veterans return from combat, adjusting to civilian life can be a series of overwhelming challenges, not the least of which can be a return to the job market. Manpower to Horsepower seeks to help combat veterans re-acclimate to civilian life by providing specialized training and job placement for careers in motorsports. It has helped rehabilitate dozens of American verterans since its founding in 2010, offering a comprehensive 16 week program at no charge to those enrolled.
Lubricant expert Royal Purple has been a long-time supporter of Manpower to Horsepower by supplying the organization with its complete line of premium high performance lubricants and chemical products, as well as well Royal Purple-branded shop apparel for use in the program. Royal Purple also extends this same support to a number veteran staffed race teams composed of graduates of Manpower to Horsepower’s program.
“Royal Purple has been with us for about four or five years now, and sometimes I think this program wouldn’t have made it if we didn’t have that kind of help,” says Sue Robertson, President of Manpower to Horsepower.
Filmed on location at the MCAS New River Red Bull Global Rallycross race, Royal Purple honored Manpower to Horsepower in a three minute NBC Sports video by offering a behind the scenes look at this remarkable organization and its efforts to help the heroic men and woman of the U.S. armed forces thrive in civilian life.
“We were introduced to Sue and MP2HP via one of our distributors in early 2012,” says Randy Fisher, Royal Purple’s Director of Partnerships and Events, “After having numerous conversations via email and phone it made sense for Royal Purple to partner with Sue and her team. We are on our fourth year with MP2HP and our support has included merchandise and product. Sue has been a great ambassador toRoyal Purple from the beginning and has continued to look at different avenues to helping Royal Purple out with promotions and relationships including charities and fundraisers. We felt it was a great opportunity to invite her and the team to the Red Bull Global Rallycross’s latest race in North Carolina since that is where the team is located.
Our product support has included our racing and high performance motor oils, transmission fluid, gear and steering fluids, grease and specialty products.”
