Barrett-Jackson’s CEO and chairman Craig Jackson has proudly revealed his just-restored 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 EXP prototype, better known as “Little Red.” The car was displayed at the 49th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, AZ, alongside another recent Shelby restoration of note, the “Green Hornet.” Jackson was closely involved with both restorations.

Among the guests happily drinking in the amazing sights at this show were Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson; Jim Owens, Ford Mustang Brand Manager; and Aaron Shelby, grandson of Carroll Shelby. All enjoyed viewing the beautiful Shelby restorations, which are the only notchback coupes ever produced wearing the Shelby nameplate.

The restoration process for “Little Red” began in 2018, when it was discovered in rural North Texas on March 3 by a team led by Jackson and classic car restoration specialist Jason Billups. Previously believed to be destroyed and lost forever, this unique Shelby prototype has long been one of the most desirable and elusive vehicles in postwar history.
