These are the cars we turn out to see. Sure, we love a cool ‘32 Ford, a Mercury lead sled, that Chevy Bel Air, but we also love the weird and wild. We want to see your T-bucket low rider, your monster mobile, your chromed-out Buick Super or Christine-inspired Plymouth Fury. This category is about vision and love. It’s about creativity in chopping, crate engine dropping, pinstripe popping enthusiasm. That’s what makes a hot rod.
Andrew Barra - Fishkill, NY - 1969 Chevrolet Corvette
"I owned my my car for a year and half and it’s been a pleasure ever since. Had a body off restoration. Was displayed in the Chip's Choice Modified Display at the biggest Corvette show in the world in Carlisle, PA, called Corvettes at Carlisle. It was also featured in the February 2020 issue of Vette Vues Magazine.
"The motor is a 454 big block Chevy pushing 410 hp backed up by a Tremic 5 speed transmission. The suspension includes Vette Base Products(VBP) rear shock tower along with VBP high performance front & rear camber and toe adjustment arms. Has tuned coil springs and Bilstein shocks. Also installed SteerRoids power rack and pinion on steering. Wheels and tires are coys C-5 chrome 17” wheels mounted to diamondback red line flame tread high performance handling tires. Nothing but pride and joy goes into my car and I always enjoy every minute of it."

Ken Henderson - Pahrump, NV - 1969 Fiberfab Valkyrie
350 Chevy with tuned port injection, ZF 5-speed. This was originally a mid-engine kit that looks similar to a GT40. It came with a 2-piece body and 2 x 5 rectangular tube frame that used Corvair front and rear suspension and a Corvair transaxle with an adapter to mate up to a Chevy V8 bell housing. Over the years I have modified and updated the car starting with replacing the quad 5-3/4" round headlights with rectangular Cibie units like those on the GT40, making a tilt nose for better access, replaced the 4-speed Corvair transaxle and trailing arm rear suspension with a Pantera ZF 5-speed and a custom 5-link (each side) setup. A Jim Meyers Racing front suspension is now up front. Tires are 345-35/15 in the rear on 12 " wide Centerlines and 285-40/15 on 10" wide in the front. The engine is currently a Chevy 350 with a TPI setup.

Dick Trammell - Mount Pleasant, SC - 1974 Ford Pinto – “Street Legal” Vintage NASCAR Modified
The car was built by a father and son team, in Connecticut in the ‘70s. The son, Mark Berndt raced the car in the NASCAR Northeast Modified Series.
The Pinto is powered by a 427 Chevy Big Block, and is all original, except for the engine, interior and “assessories” necessary to make it “street legal.”

I entered my “street legal” 1974 Pinto vintage NASCAR Modified, but it not shown, even though I received a Drop Box confirmation. I entered it in Hot Rod category. Is there a reason it was not accepted?
I too made a 3 photo submission to the Hot Rod category, but didn’t see the car posted. I also received a receipt from drop box stating they had received my submission. Just wondering. I appreciate the fact that you guys are doing this whether my car gets in or not. I know it is a lot of work, but a very clever answer to what is quickly becoming a non event summer.
Thanks so much for posting my car in Hot Rods. I appreciate the really quick follow up. Awesome cars in all categories. Thanks for your efforts on this event.
Thanks Racing Junk, Ive sent many friends to enjoy all the great cars. Thanks for getting back to me and getting my ugly little MGB in, it’s a really fun car to drive, just needs a little pretty.

We will look in our submissions, Charlie, and see. We will make sure they get into the categories if they’re there.
