Heidts Hot Rods and Muscle Car Parts Partners With RacingJunk.com for RestoMod Giveaway Contest

Revised rendering CCW wheels April 2015

Turning a traditional Chevy Sedan Delivery vehicle into a RestoMod Beach Cruiser with some serious zip requires a solid suspension system that can support a big V8, while also providing the free-wheeling feeling of a classic cruiser. That’s why RacingJunk.comis pleased to announce that Heidts Hot Rod and Muscle Car Parts is partnering with RacingJunk and VisitMyrtleBeach.com to provide the front and rear suspension system for the 1953 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery conversion vehicle that will be given away in 2016.

“RacingJunk.com wanted this project to be aspirational for our partners and for the person who eventually wins it,” explained Robert Adams, VP of Sales and Marketing for RacingJunk.com. “We’ve partnered with some of the best folks in the business to create an exciting, powerful RestoMod vehicle that will fulfill the classic cruiser dreams of the winner while still providing plenty of power. The suspension system from Heidts helps balance out all the parts of the vehicle, supporting the drive train and making this cruiser stable enough to really get up and go.”

For the front of the cruiser, Heidts provided a Superide II independent suspension complete with a power steering rack and disc brakes. The rear suspension is a Heidts 4 link with coilovers, a Johns 3rd member, housing and axles.

Heidts Automotive Group provides the best suspension and related chassis component solutions to create a superior buyer experience for the professional and hobbyist car builder or installer. The suspension products are derived from field-tested component creation, intelligently engineered parts, and absolutely the highest quality American-made manufacturing possible,” says Scott Diedrich, Heidts Director of Sales and Marketing.

“This partnership with RacingJunk allows us to showcase both the muscle car and hot rod capabilities from Heidts, while being part of a genuinely cool build.”

The Beach Cruiser giveaway is a contest sponsored by RacingJunk and VisitMyrtleBeach.com, a direct spin-off of the successful giveaway campaign last year of a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado from AED Performance and RacingJunk to celebrate RacingJunk’s 15th anniversary.

“It felt so great to give away a vehicle that we decided to up our game, and do a build to give away,” explains Adams. “When VisitMyrtleBeach.com expressed interest in signing on for the project, we knew it had to be a vehicle that celebrated the beach vacation.”

The giveaway launched officially nationwide on April 20, 2015 and will run through 2016. Entries will be accepted online or at any of the events where the vehicle will appear including the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 Xfinity NASCAR Race at Kentucky Speedway, the Goodguys 18th PPG Nationals, Back to the Fifties, the Syracuse Nationals, Holley LS Fest, and the SEMA and PRI Trade shows. Entries will also be taken at the Super Chevy shows.

Currently, the vehicle is being restored by Outcast Kustoms in Mooresville, NC in preparation for the Long Haul of the Hot Rod Power Tour in June.
