Goldstone Debuts 1953 Corvette NHRA Pro Mod Drag and Drive Car at PRI 2024
Drag racer and builder Bryant Goldstone debuts his new vehicle and accepts a challenge from a passerby at the Performance Racing Industry show.
One of the most fun things about the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show is taking to racers, manufacturers and builders about the past season as well as the adventures in speed and performance to come. Bryant Goldstone is one of those racers/builders. RacingJunk had the great fortune to feature Goldstone’s 1973 AMC Javelin in its booth at the 2024 PRI Show, celebrating a successful season for the Javelin (including winning Drag, Drive and Repeat’s top award, also handed out at the PRI Show during their award’s ceremony on Thursday, December 11, 2024). But Goldstone didn’t just show up to PRI to talk about the Javelin. He also debuted a new race car — a 1953 Chevy Corvette NHRA Pro Mod car which will also participate in the drag and drive events Goldstone is currently dominating.
RacingJunk had the chance to interview Goldstone about the car at the XS Battery booth where it was residing, learning about it’s current status, what the next steps are for the vehicle and what the 2025 season might look like. The interview was a pretty standard breakdown of a very cool car — until a passerby stepped in and started to front Goldstone about his successes. Goldtsone handled the challenge like a pro, inviting the heckler to put his money where his mouth is and bring his own car to the track. We all eagerly look forward to that scenario. The build will feature an SMX engine built by Robin’s Racecraf, a Rossler transmission and likely a Gear Vendor overdrive. Check out the whole interview below, learn more about the vehicle and see if our interloper stands a chance on the track against Goldstone and his amazing machines:
