This category is for the original Ford Mustang. While technically, that first model is for the 1965 Mustang, mid-1964 is when the car appeared on the world stage. Literally. The first generation was incredibly popular and while there were changes to the body and the engine after that original model, the basic framework of the vehicle was recognizable until the big change in 1979.

This is not a show car by any means, originally CA A-code built for road racing SCCA AS/Trans-Am here in the Midwest back in 1970, and raced up into the 80s. I swapped the 16x10 wheels it had on it when I got it and put on the 17" Speedline wheels just so I could find some street tires to use. The interior is just two seats and a roll cage. It is basically still as raced back then, so it is loud and obnoxious, and just about right.
This was my first car and first race car. It was originally my daily driver and was later caged and back halved and became a bracket car. It had a mild 302, C4 Automatic, 9 inch rear, and ladder bars. The deck lid was a GT/CS "California Special" reproduction.
