Dodge Brings 600-HP Charger Super Bee, Custom Builds to Woodward Dream Cruise
Dodge is bringing plenty of horsepower and attitude to this year’s Woodward Dream Cruise, following up its Roadkill Nights kickoff with a display packed with new performance cars, custom builds and a few surprises for muscle-car fans.
The centerpiece of Dodge’s Woodward display is the new 600-horsepower 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Launch Edition. Joining the Super Bee will be the Durango R/T 392 Smokescreen concept, giving attendees a look at two of the latest performance-focused offerings from the Dodge lineup.
One of the biggest visual changes on display will be the new Red Oxide exterior color for the Charger. Dodge is using Woodward Avenue as the public debut for the dark, aggressive shade, encouraging fans to check it out, take photos and share them on social media while tagging @dodgeofficial.
Dodge will also showcase several of its more outrageous factory customization options. Among the vehicles on display will be a Toxic Orange Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak, a Cha Ching Charger Scat Pack and Charger models equipped with the brand’s new Tinted Dual Stripes graphic package. The collection highlights Dodge’s push to give buyers more ways to personalize its modern muscle cars.
Adding some drag-strip credibility to the display will be Direct Connection Grudge Match champion John O’Malley. O’Malley will make a special appearance with his modified Dodge Charger Scat Pack, which packs a reported 1,000 horsepower. The car earned its place at the event by winning the Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge Grudge Match.
For the sixth consecutive year, Dodge is also partnering with the Modern Street HEMI Shootout community for the 11th annual HEMI’nsanity car show. The Dodge display will be located at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 43816 Woodward Avenue in Bloomfield Township, on Saturday, August 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
With the 600-hp Super Bee, a 1,000-hp Grudge Match winner, a Hellcat-powered Durango and a collection of custom-color Chargers, Dodge’s Woodward display is aimed squarely at enthusiasts who still believe there’s plenty of life—and horsepower—left in American performance.
The 2027 Charger lineup continues Dodge’s move toward a multi-powertrain performance strategy. The Charger Super Bee Launch Edition uses the SIXPACK engine to produce 600 horsepower, while the Charger R/T delivers 420 horsepower and the Charger Scat Pack produces 550 horsepower from a 3.0-liter twin-turbo SIXPACK H.O. engine.
For those looking for electric performance, the Charger Daytona Scat Pack produces 670 horsepower and offers all-wheel drive. Dodge also continues to offer serious V-8 power in the Durango lineup, including the 710-horsepower Durango SRT Hellcat.
Buyers of select SIXPACK-powered Charger models and the Durango SRT Hellcat also receive a day of performance driving instruction at Radford Racing School as part of Dodge’s performance ownership experience.
