DIESEL Motorsports’ East Coast Diesel Nationals Finds a New Home for 2026

The longtime diesel truck tradition moves to Maryland for 2026, bringing show trucks, dirt drags and sled pulling together for a full day of smoke-rolling action.

For more than a decade, DIESEL Motorsports has brought diesel truck enthusiasts together for a weekend of racing, pulling, competition and camaraderie at its annual East Coast Diesel Nationals. As a proud partner and the official racing and performance classifieds of DIESEL Motorsports, RacingJunk has followed the event and the diesel community it serves for years.
What started as a summer gathering just beyond the Bloomsburg Jamboree grew into one of the region’s premier all-diesel truck events. DIESEL Motorsports invested significant time, money and effort into making the East Coast Diesel Nationals a destination for truck enthusiasts, including bringing in more than $15,000 worth of clay dirt to build a sled-pulling track on property it did not own.
While weather occasionally created challenges, the event’s longtime July date had become part of its identity. Eventually, however, circumstances beyond DIESEL Motorsports’ control began to change.
With management and schedule changes at Numidia Dragway, the facility would shift the event into June. Moving an established event to a different date is never easy, particularly for an event with more than a decade of history. Then came the COVID-19 pandemic, creating even more challenges for racetracks, venues and motorsports events across the country.
Adding to those difficulties were increased EPA-related pressures on local diesel shops and businesses, further impacting the venue and the surrounding diesel community. Ultimately, the combination of circumstances left DIESEL Motorsports facing a difficult decision about the future of the East Coast Diesel Nationals.
After years of investment, hard work and memories, moving the event was not a decision that was made lightly.
A New Location for 2026
For the 2026 season, DIESEL Motorsports is taking the East Coast Diesel Nationals to a new venue and a new date. The event will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Washington County Agricultural Center in Boonsboro, Maryland, just south of Hagerstown and Interstate 70.
The move brings with it a new format designed to take advantage of everything the facility has to offer. Gates will open at 11 a.m., with the truck and tractor show-n-shine kicking off the day’s activities. From there, the action will shift into the dirt drags from 3-6 p.m., followed by sled pulling from 6-9 p.m.
The Western Maryland Pullers Association is assisting DIESEL Motorsports with the sled pull while also coordinating with the Washington County Agricultural Center. That partnership has helped make the transition to the new facility a smooth one.
For longtime East Coast Diesel Nationals attendees, the move represents an opportunity to start a new chapter while preserving what has always made the event special: diesel trucks, competition and a family-friendly atmosphere.
DIESEL Motorsports is inviting past attendees, as well as local truck and tractor owners, to come out and experience the new venue. The Washington County Agricultural Center offers paved parking, restrooms, concessions and plenty of room for enthusiasts to enjoy the event.
For the diesel community, events like the East Coast Diesel Nationals remain an important part of keeping grassroots truck competition alive. From show trucks and working trucks to pulling rigs and purpose-built dirt drag machines, the event brings together the people, vehicles and businesses that make the diesel performance world unique.
