The Aces Hot Rod Resurrection returned for its 19th Annual Car Show at the Old World Village in Huntington Beach, CA. The location is a perfect setting for a traditional car show with the old cobblestone streets and painted art murals throughout the village. The event took place in early April and is open to pre ‘65 traditional hot rods and customs only. The entry fee is only $25 per ride so early registration is always encouraged. Every year, entertainment is provided by L.A. locals, the Hot Rod Trio, with band members Buddy Dughi, Suzy Dughi, and Pete Bonny playing all forms of rockabilly music throughout the afternoon. If you haven’t been to the Old World Village attending a classic car show is just an added bonus. This popular spot offers a variety of restaurants including specialty delis and bakeries. The giant pretzels and German Chocolate Cake are always a favorite at the Old World Deli. The patio inside the Biergarten is also a great spot to grab lunch and a couple cold drinks while waiting for the awards ceremony to start. The event concludes with the award presentation by the Aces Car Club. There were 5 awards presented at this year’s event with all 5 awards handmade by the Aces members. Best Custom went to Steven Schmidt and his 1934 Ford Roadster, Best Traditional Hot Rod was Luis Loyola with his 1929 Ford Sedan, Best Truck went to Mike Neuer and his 1940 Ford, Best Home Built went to Jon Spragle and his 1932 Ford Sedan and Best of Show was Augie Esposito and his 1932 Ford 3 Window.
