Pro Modified driver Billy Glidden is in stable condition this morning following an accident at Orlando Speed World Dragway, in Orlando, Fla. On Tuesday afternoon, Glidden was participating in a testing session in his 2010 Mustang when media sources in the area report that he encountered severe tire shake around 80 feet off the starting line. The veteran driver lost control of his Pro Modified Mustang and drove it straight into both retaining walls before coming to a rest.
Following the crash, Glidden was knocked unconscious for a brief time. After being cut from his car, Glidden became alert and began to complain of back pain, but continued to move his arms and feet, during his transport to a local hospital. According to a recently released media statement, “Pro Modified racer Billy Glidden is in stable condition, and resting as comfortably as can be expected following an accident this afternoon while testing his 2010 Mustang at Orlando Speed World Dragway in Orlando, Fla. Doctors at Orlando Regional Hospital have performed multiple x-rays and cat scans and preliminary test results have confirmed five broken ribs and bruised lungs at this time.”
