2027 Corvette Grand Sport is Back! Now with a 6.7L V8 and AWD

Chevrolet is bringing back the Grand Sport name for 2027, and it’s coming with a serious upgrade. Debuting at Sebring International Raceway, the new lineup includes both the classic Corvette Grand Sport and the all-new Grand Sport X, blending old-school V8 performance with modern tech.

Under the hood, both models are powered by a new 6.7L LS6 V8, now the standard engine across the Corvette lineup. It delivers 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, sticking with a naturally aspirated setup and pairing it to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. More displacement, more response, and no forced induction—exactly what V8 fans want.

The standard Grand Sport keeps things traditional with rear-wheel drive and a balanced setup that works just as well on the street as it does on the track. Magnetic Ride Control comes standard, with available performance packages adding stickier tires, bigger brakes, and more aggressive suspension tuning for drivers who want to push it harder.

Then there’s the Grand Sport X, which flips the script a bit by adding a front electric motor and all-wheel drive. The result is a combined 721 horsepower, instant torque up front, and way more grip when launching or powering out of corners. It also brings selectable performance modes and even a quiet electric-only mode for low-speed driving.

Visually, Chevy kept the heritage alive with classic Grand Sport touches like hash marks, bold striping, and throwback-inspired colors, while still leaning into the aggressive mid-engine C8 look. Production is set to begin this summer in Bowling Green, making it clear Chevy isn’t letting the Grand Sport name fade quietly—it’s just evolving with the times.
