Holley Breaks Records at 2020 U.S. Street Car Nationals

For more than a decade, racers have descended upon Bradenton Motorsports Park for the annual U.S. Street Nationals.  The U.S. Nats gives racers and their teams an opportunity to try out new setups and see what they are working with before they go into a whole new season. There’s usually not a lot of racing in the cold months so this event really gets fans back into the excitement.

There were both old and new faces competing and setting from all different classes. Holley EFI broke plenty of records including the quickest Radial Versus the World Car as well as the Fastest Nitrous Doorslammer. Stevie Fast Jackson continues his streak of lightning-fast runs in his Killin’ Time Racing “Shadow 2.0”, the MSD Pro 600 powered Camaro shuffled No. 1 qualifier with teammate Marcus Birt on Friday.  Saturday belonged to Jackson after laying down a 3.546 @ 213.33 MPH which not only netted him the coveted top spot, but also the official title as the quickest Radial versus the World race car.

Jackson continued on to take on Melanie Salemi and her “Sidepiece” Camaro in the third round. Jackson knew Salemi and her Camaro were formidable considering she won the event last year. The race came down to Jason taking home the win with a 3.548 @ 213.91 MPH pass to Salemi’s 3.574 @ 210.77.

The party continued for Jackson when he took on his KTR teammate Marcus “The axeman” Birt, and with a name like that it makes sense that he also had the world’s fastest nitrous doorlammer (tuned by Steve Jackson). Birt was putting down low 3.60 passes all day which pole vaulted him into a bye run to the final round.

Jackon and Birt went at it with guns a blazing, but it was Jackson besting Birt with a 3.561 @ 213.10 MPH to Birt’s  3.609 @ 204.45 MPH.
