Welcome back to Behind the Wheel, where our latest interviewee is a very important warrior both on and off the track.
According to recent statistics, about one in eight women throughout the USA will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime; this year, over 200,000 new cases of breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed. While the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, these staggering statistics are something we race fans should be aware of no matter what the season. This is just one reason we are proud to welcome our latest Behind the Wheel guest, H3 Racing’s own two-wheeled speed demon Sharon Dubois, who is taking this battle head on.
This adrenaline junkie and breast cancer warrior developed a passion for two-wheel driving after taking a Harley Davidson learn-to-ride course. Before long, Sharon and her husband were taking their new Night Rod Special to American Motorcycle Racing Association (AMRA) races in Kentucky, where Sharon would soon find her new lease on life.
After beginning to turn heads in the AMRA drag racing world, including earning a championship, Dubois was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although her battle has just begun with a double mastectomy earlier this month, Dubois is continuing to put her hard-charging spirit into taking down the one thing that is trying to stop her from becoming a success in the sport that she loves.
This phenomenal warrior is also using her creative side to help others overcome this disease by tapping into their soldier within. Check out her Breast Cancer Warrior t-shirt design; if you are familiar with any printing companies that can turn this design into a product that can help others survive this disease, please comment below so that we can get you in touch with our guest.
Listen to our interview below to learn more about this incredibly talented warrior; we wish her a speedy recovery soon.
