Pinup Pole Show Pinup of the Week: Candace Cane

Click Here to Begin Slideshow This week’s Pinup Pole Show Pinup of the Week is the confident Candace Cane. You can see her here with one of the company’s favorite cars (we still can’t find its owner!), a 1960 Starliner. These gorgeous color and black and white photos were shot by Shane Karns at Tonya Kay’s Pinup Pole Show. Let’s talk to Candace about her newest classic truck acquisition and how her father connected with her through his love of cars. TONYA KAY: You just acquired your first classic. What is it and why is it special to you? CANDACE CANE: Indeed I did, but not under favorable circumstances. It’s a 1989 Ford Ranger that originally belonged to my father’s former partner Bryan Hampton. When he passed away my father kept the car and even made some upgrades to it. It came into my possession when my father, Albert Alexander Short III, passed away this January. I’ve been riding around in that car since I was 10 years old, so it is something I hold dear to my heart. TONYA KAY: What work will you be doing on your classic truck before it’s cruise-in ready? CANDACE CANE: Per my father’s request, I will get the ABS done and fix the blinker. Cosmetically I’m going to have it re-painted, add some lights to the trunk bed and add a few more Batman decals. Batman was his favorite. TONYA KAY: Who introduced you to the world of classic autos and racing? Where and what events? CANDACE CANE: I’d say my dad introduced me to classic cars by way of movie cars, as he was a movie buff and especially showed interest in old school cars like the Batmobile and KITT. Street racing and sideshows were something an ex of mine introduced me to. I've been passenger for a few races and the driver for a drifting contest. TONYA KAY: If you could share words of advice with young pinups and performers, what would you impart? CANDACE CANE: Practice as much as you can, whether it be practicing your makeup looks, a routine for a performance, posing or even premeditating ideas for costumes long before you hit the stage. Assuredness and repetition will generally make you feel more confident, and confidence is sexy!
