This week’s Pinup Pole Show Pinup of the Week is the personality-forward Libra, Candace Cane. Here you see Candace posing with Sal Molina's (Voodoo Disciples cc) 1953 Oldsmobile Rocket 88, photographed by Shane Karns at Tonya Kay’s Pinup Pole Show. Let’s find out more about the photographer’s process this week!
TONYA KAY: What are your photographic goals for 2019?
SHANE KARNS: To certainly shoot more dance and to continue to fine-tune my craft. To challenge myself with creating/directing more of my images. It's one thing to "take a picture," say of a dancer moving to the music, but it's quite another to "create the picture," as in positioning and directing the subjects in front of me.
TONYA KAY: What are you shooting on currently?
SHANE KARNS: In front of me now on my computer are nearly 2,000 images I'm sifting through that I took of a pole dancer and also a professional weight lifter from a session a few days ago. The next shoot I currently have coming up is for the Director's Guild of America 2018 Awards Ceremony at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood!
TONYA KAY: Any tips for photographers working with models for the first time?
SHANE KARNS: Hmmm... Interesting question, as my first experience working with models was working with you personally and rest of the dancers in Tonya Kay's Pinup Pole Show! It certainly helps to work with models who know how to pose themselves and are comfortable in front of the camera. As long as you have a solid understanding of how to work your camera, manipulate light, and you're working with a model who has a solid understanding of what to do with their bodies then you really can't go wrong! That said, take mental notes working with the experienced models on how they move and pose, because chances are you'll eventually find yourself in front of a model/subject who needs direction.

I would like to invite Candace to come to Lawrence, Kansas to our Rev It Up car show on September 14th this summer. It will be a lot of fun!
Pinup Pole Show loves to model and perform at car shows!
