Pinup Pole Show Pinup of the Week: Celebration for Tara Phillips

Click Here to Begin Slideshow This week’s Pinup Pole Show Pinup of the Week is a celebration of the radiant Tara Phillips, a pinup pole dancer we all loved and the classic truck she loved, Hernando Rojas’ 1954 Chevy. You’ll see the whole gaggle of Pinup Pole Show models having a tailgate party in the back of that pickup - because only a classy classic like this can host a girl gang like ours, and let’s face it: Wherever Tara was, there was a party! The late Tara Phillips was in the OG cast of Pinup Pole Show and originated the Pink Telephone act, which we still perform today. She was a fierce pole dancer with a beautiful singing voice and an impressive drive to better herself - nothing could stop her from what she was passionate about! She was a host and a comedienne who loved her doggie and performing with all of her heart. She was generous and solution-oriented and had a way of elevating the energy wherever she was. Tara is pictured here wearing a pink polkadot bikini, her choice color. Tara, you will always be a part of the Pinup Pole Show family and we honor you by celebrating how great life is! Hernando Rojas and his '54 Chevy are part of the family, too, and we always look forward to seeing this great truck at our shows. Let’s hear about how Hernando’s pickup is truly a family affair: HERNANDO: "It was my pops' truck first. When he bought the truck it was in pieces and missing parts. So we used to attend the swap meet in Pomona to buy the parts we needed. I got attached to the truck and used to bug him to sell it to me until he finally did. In 2000 we finished the truck, and it became my daily driver in 2006. "Having a classic is like having a time machine - people always have a story to tell me about the old days. It brings old folks joy as well as youngsters - kids love classic cars and it brings them big smiles. "Classic cars are in my family blood. We all have some. There are about 23 classics between my uncles. My cousin has three. I have three classics as well. "I've been a member of Voodoo Disciples CC since the beginning. We are a laid back club all about having a good time, going to tiki bars or the MOONEYES, Ventura Nationals and National Roadster car shows. We also have an annual cruise/BBQ at Griffith Park (Los Angeles, CA) and hang out when we can." Pinup Pole Show wants to thank the whole classic car community for bringing families and friends together! Tara Phillips is featuring posing with Pinup Pole Show in Hernando Rojas’ (of Voodoo Disciples CC) 1954 Chevy truck, wearing Red Dolly Swimwear, at Damien’s Auto Repair, photographed by Tim Hunter, produced by Tonya Kay.
