Mitzi’s Pinup Corner: Miss Dee Dee Cupcake

Hot rod and pinup photographer Mitzi Valenzuela is known for having her finger on the pulse of both classic and rockabilly car culture. As part of that, Mitzi produces pinup contests for shows all over the world. Here she shares photos of the competitors and some super sweet rides.

Here are a few words from Miss Dee Dee Cupcake, today's featured pinup model and winner of Miss Mooneyes 2018: "Winning Miss Mooneyes 2018 was a dream come true and an amazing honor. I knew that the Mooneyes Christmas show was a Southern California tradition, and that Mitzi’s contests always had the coolest custom trophies!

"Mooneyes is one of the best car shows in SoCal and has an intimate vibe despite being a large event. The cars were amazing! I spent quite a bit of time putting my overall look together and making sure every detail of my outfit was perfect. My strategy was to believe in myself, enjoy the moment and have fun on stage, because as my mother said, 'It will be over before you know it.'

"I will never forget how I felt the moment my number was called as this year’s Miss Mooneyes; all of the ladies were amazing, so I was truly shocked. I received an incredible amount of support from the moment I was a finalist until the stage, and I believe that played a huge part in my win. Winning Miss Mooneyes is definitely one of the highlights of my pinup career, and I am very grateful for this opportunity."
