RPM Foundation Announces “Off To The Races” a Free Program for Anyone who is Pursuing a Career in Restoration.

RPM is known as an organization that works to identify and encourage the next generation of automotive, motorcycle and marine restoration specialists. The RPM foundation announced earlier this month that they will be announcing a special program for anyone who is pursuing a career in restoration. This program is coming to Circuit of the Americas located in Austin, TX for the Vintage Racing NAtional Championships. You will be able to talk with the racing teams, tour the paddock, watch vintage car and motorcycle races!

Also, RPM ambassador  and Commander of the International Space Station, Drew Feustel will take time away away from his duties as Master of Ceremonies to spend some time with program’s group. Check out the info below:

DATE: Saturday, November 3, 2018

TIME: 8am – 5pm

LOCATION: 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd, Austin, TX 78617

OFF TO THE RACES WITH RPM is a program for automotive students with “heritage in their hearts” who would like to explore the pathway to a career in automotive/motorcycle restoration & preservation. It’s one of RPM’s four programs geared towards getting automotive students out in the field to meet their future customers and see how they use their collector cars. This is about jobs, work and networking for their futures. The details about Off To The Races can be found in the attached flyer.

ADMISSION – Please note that admission is complimentary for the first 30 students registering (normally $20/person). Students registering after that split the cost with RPM (RPM pays $10 + students pay $10 per student). Parents and teachers pay $20/person, although RPM is willing to discuss a sliding scale. Space is limited to a total of 40 people. The attached registration form – the AUTObiography on the second page of the flyer – and waiver and photo/video authorization each need to be completed by each participant, students and parents/teachers.

Right now, we are limiting the number of students per school/institution to FIVE plus one teacher. As registrations come in, we may modify that, increasing the number of students and adults per school/institution. We are also inviting RPM students from outside the Circuit of the Americas area, FYI.

AGES – The ages of students participating in our programs are typically 17-25 years old.

BUSINESS CARDS –  Please note the mention of business cards on the registration side of the flyer. Students, teachers and parents are “required” to have business cards made up and brought with them on November 3rd. It’s all part of the networking experience. Suggestions about business cards, having your students bring their resume and what to wear are on the same side of the flyer. If any of your students would like to submit their resumes to me for review prior to Off To the Races, I’d be happy to work with them.

ITINERARY An itinerary with the details-of-the-day, including parking suggestions, where we’ll convene, track map, timing of activites, etc. will be provided several days prior to November 3rd.
