The next Goodguys event will be taking place in the beautiful city of Spokane, Washington. The city got its name from the Spokane Tribe, which means “children of the sun” and was incorporated in 1881. Around the same time, Spokane became heavily populated due to finding gold, silver and lead in area. Spokane is also the birthplace of Father’s Day. So, when you’re not too busy at the Nationals, we’ve put together some places for you to explore in the area. Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park is considered one of the most picturesque downtown parks in the nation. It is located on over 100 acres, mostly on an island, and overlooks Spokane Falls. While there you can enjoy the Rotary Interactive Fountain, a 12’ Red Wagon that you can slide down, the Sculpture Walk and much more! The park is open daily from 5am-Midnight.

Spokane Falls Skyride
This “all weather” closed cabin ride has been named “One of the Top 12 Scenic Cable Rides in the World”! Each trip takes about 15 minutes and the cabins are ADA compliant with a 6 person capacity. The Skyride is open Wednesday-Sunday, from 10am-9pm.

Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden
The garden was built in 1974 and is a symbol of friendship between Spokane and Nishinomiya, its sister city in Japan. With the beautiful landscaping, a waterfall and pond with Koi fish, the garden is the perfect balance of nature and tranquility.

Cat Tales Zoological Park
Opened 27 years ago, it’s really more of a sanctuary and wildlife rescue than a zoo. The park specializes in big cats, as you could probably tell from the name, but it is also home to coyotes, foxes, black bears and exotic birds. Summer hours for the park are Tuesday-Sunday from 10am-5pm.

Spokane Party Trolley
Spokane Party Trolley is the ultimate form of transportainment! The trolley bike is eco-friendly and is only powered by the pedaling of the passengers. You can customize your own rides or book one of their Pub Crawl rides daily from 10am-10pm.

Wonderland Family Fun Center
Wonderland is located on over 5 acres and offers free admission with the ability to purchase passes for the rides, great idea for the families that don’t all enjoy rides! Enjoy the day with bumper boats, laser tag, black light mini-golf, rock climbing and much more! Sunday-Thursday the park is open from 10am-10pm, Friday and Saturday they are open until 11pm.
