As the winter holiday seasons roll around, the 2017 racing season begins to come to a close, and what a season it was – especially for the stars of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). For those who followed this season and all its ups and downs, you know that the finale was nothing short of epic.
While it seemed that three dominating drivers in each of the leading NHRA series would take home yet another world championship as the final race approached, everything would change following the Auto Club NHRA finals at Auto Club Raceway.
In our latest edition of the new and improved Behind the Wheel podcast, we caught up with the newest NHRA World Championship winners, who each proved that nothing is over until “it is officially over.”
Tune in below to let John Force Racing’s newest World Champions, Top Fuel driver Brittany Force and Funny Car driver Robert “Top Gun” Hight, tell you how both teams were able to give this team a legendary finish to the 2017 NHRA season.
John Force Racing wasn’t the only team to wow fans at the season finale at Auto Club Raceway. Although KB Racing driver Bo Butner entered championship weekend 40 points behind teammate Greg Anderson, that changed after his Chevy Camaro took down Anderson to move on to his final race of the 2017 NHRA season against rookie driver Tanner Gray.
Our final guest of the podcast is going to tell us just how he was able to turn on his final win light of the season, against a rookie who has continued to challenge him, to take home the 2017 Pro Stock World Championship.
