Target Steps Away from Racing

In an effort to make a complete exit from motorsports, long-time Chip Ganassi Racing marketing partner Target recently announced that it will not renew its deal with Kyle Larson’s No. 42 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Chevy following the 2017 season.

Despite its 28-year relationship with both Ganassi’s IndyCar and NASCAR Series teams, the Minneapolis-based retailer began reallocating its marketing dollars away from motorsports after stepping away from CGR’s IndyCar team last season. While the soon-to-be-past motorsports sponsor has plans to direct its marketing dollars to focus more on soccer, this move also leaves Ganassi scrambling to find a new sponsor for 24-year-old driver Kyle Larson in 2018.

As this mega motorsports team says goodbye to what was once a member of the family, it will be interesting to see if one of NASCAR’s newest rising stars can bring the dollars necessary to keep its program going.

  1. For 5 years Target hasn’t had marketing dollars. They are more interested in keeping 2nd amendment rights owners from entering their stores while at the same time allowing men in women’s restrooms and dressing rooms. Keeping the bell ringers from the sidewalks at Christmas, at the same time propelling the homosexual agenda.
No wonder share holders have took a hit on the markets while Target takes a hit from funding.
They will soon be as the race team. A has been, and out of business.

  2. Thank you guys for enlightening me on Target’s un-American 2nd amendment stance and it’s disgusting tolerance of gender bending while doing NOTHING to support or protect MY family’s Christian values or morality. I knew nothing about Targets position. I was a consistent twice a week Target shopper. I will NEVER step foot in another store or allow my employees to purchase any more supplies there for our business. Probably 25k per year
