Lizzy Musi Sets Another 1/8 Mile Pro Mod Record

Click Here to Begin Slideshow Lizzy Musi has been breaking records in the Pro Drag Racing Association (PDRA) ever since her fifth race in the Pro Mod Pro Nitrous class at the first PDRA U.S. Drags at Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP) in Dinwiddie, Va. back in 2014. The 26-year-old drag racer has already set two more records this year.

Rookie Musi Becomes First Female Driver to Win in Pro Nitrous Class

In just her fourth Pro Nitrous race, Musi made it all the way to the final round at the Martin, Mich. PDRA event in 2014. She also eclipsed the 3.70 second ET and 200 MPH barriers at the same event. At the VMP race, she laid down a qualifying run of 3.740 seconds, which was a Pro Nitrous record. Lizzy later drove her car, King Kong 5, Frank Brandao’s 2009 Dodge Stratus to the win, making her the first woman to win in the 89-race history of the Pro Nitrous division.

Back in late January of this year, Lizzy was competing in the fourth round of the Arabian Pro Series at Qatar Racing Club. She had taken her Al-Anabi Performance-sponsored King Kong Dodge to the line against the Moe Atat 69 blown Camaro in the finals.

When all was said and done, Musi had tripped the lights with a 3.71 ET for the win, making her the first woman ever to win a Pro Mod race in the Middle East.

May 7th Sees Pro Mod Pro Nitrous Record Fall to Musi

The stage was the Maryland International Raceway’s Haltech Door Wars over the weekend of 6-7 May, 2017. Musi had spent the winter in Bahrain, trading the record with Mahana Al-Naemi until Al-Naemi wrapped up the Middle Eastern winter season by setting a convincing record of 3.643 in February.

Musi was lined up with Melanie Salemi in her 3.7 second supercharged Pro Boost car. Salemi ran a respectable 3.747, but Musi drove King Kong 6, Brandao’s 2015 Dodge Dart, to a face blistering 3.631 second ET at a speed of 205.86 MPH to break the Pro Nitrous record again.
