Toyota and the NHRA have extended their agreement, making the NHRA the title-rights sponsor of the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event held in the fall at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“Toyota’s extension as title sponsor of the NHRA Toyota Nationals further shows the steadfastness of Toyota and their NHRA partnership,” said Brad Gerber, NHRA vice president of sales & chief development officer. “NHRA is very happy to be able to maintain the dependable relationship it has created with Toyota and hopes for it to not only continue but become even more successful.”
The event will run Oct. 26-29, and is the fifth race of NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship, NHRA’s six-race playoffs. The extension continues from NHRA and Toyota’s strong partnership, which includes Toyota as the Official Car of NHRA and Toyota’s title-rights sponsorship of the Toyota NHRA Sonoma National at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. (July 28-30).
Toyota will maintain a strong presence at The Strip with display space in the Midway, inflatables, starting line bannering and participation in the Winner’s Circle ceremony. Toyota will also name a Grand Marshal and Honorary Starter for the event.
“The NHRA Toyota Nationals has become one of the most exciting events on the circuit with major championship implications,” said Paul Doleshal, Toyota senior manager motorsports and assets. “Whether it’s our drivers delivering on track or the experience we bring to fans in the midway, this extension with The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway allows us to interact with some of the greatest racing fans in America.”
