For the eighth time, Ducati has received EICMA’s “most beautiful bike of the Show” award, this time for its new Ducati SuperSport. As this prestigious award is only in its twelfth edition, eight wins is quite an impressive showing.
The 74th EICMA show was well-attended, so more than 12,000 fans (both at the show and via the internet) took part in the decision to deem the Ducati SuperSport the best-looking bike at the 2016 show. The SuperSport won first quite squarely, garnering 13.2% more votes than the second-place contender. The award was given out at the end of the week of EICMA exhibitions and events, on Sunday, Nov. 13.
Designed to offer comfort, riding ease and sports-inspired style in one elegant package, the Ducati SuperSport is meant to be one of the company’s more accessible bikes. Its high equipment-value-to-price ratio and long service intervals mean that even those who are just beginning to get into bikes can afford and enjoy this versatile machine. It runs on a 937 cm³ Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine, which supplies 113 HP and a full, linear torque curve. A 16-liter gas tank ensures that riders can enjoy taking the bike even on medium-range trips.
