Over 125 vehicle builders and car customizers entered the SEMA Battle of the Builders Competition in 2014, and the turnout is expected to be similar this year.  In this competition, judges narrow down the entered cars to 10 finalists, and then the finalists select amongst themselves who will be named the Top Builder at the inaugural SEMA Ignited event.

In the competition’s first year last year, the judges were made up of a panel of editors from three leading automotive magazines.

The TV special will go behind the scenes of what the expert judges had to say and exactly how they narrowed it down to their 10 finalists.  It will also chronicle the builders’ journeys and show viewers their trials and tribulations during the builds.

The top 10 last year was made up of a variety of different vehicles ranging from a ’32 Ford Roadster all the way up to a 2013 Ford Raptor.  See all the top 10 choices here.
