Updated 9/4/14, post reveal. According to Mazda, the all-new MX-5, which adopts both SKYACTIV technology and Mazda’s KODO-Soul of Motion design language, will be rolled out to global markets starting in 2015. It looks more aggressive than its predecessor and is apparently more driver focused, with an eye to the driving experience, something Mazda has really been focusing on across the board. We can’t wait to zip around with the top down. The stock Miata may not be the fastest sportscar out there, but it is undeniably fun.
The countdown is on!
It’s one of the biggest amateur racing classes in the world, and now it’s got a new model for fans to look towards, anticipating the way this quintessential roadster for the people is going to zoom zoom into their hearts. The new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata will be revealed live in multiple locations, including Mazda Raceway in Monterey, CA, at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, and simultaneously in Barcelona, and Toyko.
And who better to celebrate the beloved convertible than 80s icons Duran Duran. Yeah, we know its weird. But we love it all the same. Long live the Miata! #longlivetheroadster
