It’s Official: 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Has 707 HP

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

Just in time for America’s 238th birthday, Chrysler has revealed that the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will crank out 707 horsepower, making it the most powerful Challenger ever and the most powerful muscle car ever made.

The 6.2 liter supercharged Hellcat engine is the first factory supercharged HEMI and features 650 lb.-ft. of tire-smoking torque.

If 707 HP is too much for you (or the valet) to handle, there’s a second key fob that limits engine output to 500 HP. But I’m pretty sure that second key fob isn’t going to see much except for the inside of a drawer.

Here’s Chrysler’s official announcement video:

  1. Those numbers are measured at the crankshaft. Subtract anywhere between 20%-25% for hp and tq to the ground which is still very impressive! I’ll calculate those numbers using 22.5% which equals: 547.9 hp and 503.75 ft/lb at the treads.
