Leaky Glide?
I run a 176 glide with a Hipster pro brake and 8" Coan 6000 stall converter. I'm running a deep pan and big cooler. There is no leak at idle but after every run it drips on the passenger side. The cooler lines are not leaking. I'm thinking its coming from the vent. I've tried running it on add but it makes no difference. Do i need a catch can for the trans? Is this a common problem? I no nothing about transmissions. Any help would be great. Thanks...Jeff.

sounds like your trans case could be cracked. that is a common place for them to crack right by the line & it wouldn't show up until you got on the brake. what kind of motor & trans mounts do you have.what kind of fluid do you run.

I'v cracked a case before in a different car. It had a huge leak compared to this. There is no huge leak on the starting line or the track officials would have told me. I get on the trans brake in the shop and no leak. I know its on the brake longer at the track and they havn't said anything to me. Its down about 1/2 litre in 6 or 7 passes. I only notice the leak after a pass. The car is a 69 back half Chevelle with a front motor plate and stock trans mount. It runs 10.0 at 135mph. I'm hitting nuetral after every pass. Could that have something to do with it? I'm useing Dextron 3 fluid.

First, go to synthetic, it will reduce temps 10 to 20 degrees. Mobil 1 Dexron V is fine. Second, run the vent into a catch can. If it still leaks, either your case is cracked at the cooler fittings or dipstick tube is leaking, and make sure your servo bolts have not loosened.
