Default S-10 SBC

I am installing a sbc in a 95 S-10 with front and mid plates, and I was wondering if the engine needs to sit level front to back? I have it level side to side but am have trouble with the front to rear. I think it is about a 1/4 of a inch off (the front is higher). Any help would be great. Thanks

Usually putting a level on the carb pad on the intake will find that you are pretty close to level where it sits. If it's not, adjust accordingly. Most intakes are cast with some angle built in them. If you can't get it close, Moroso makes carb wedge plates.
